Bierfest & IKEYSVIBE is offering all studentz half price tickets to Friday night und Saturday lunch sessions, und total FREE-dom (i.e. free entry!) on Sunday – with a free bier on entry for all valid card members (one 500ml bier per member).

All you need to do is show your valid IKEYSVIBE student card at ze Bierfest Box Office at Newlands Brewery when you pitch up to get your tickets. You get:

So…. being the astute student you are (or maybe you’ve just seen their silly jokes on Facebook), we are sure that you already know that Bierfest gives around 5000 Capetonians (and about 800 tourists from afar afield as Brackenfell), ze chance to experience some real authentic Bavarian Bier culture every year round about this time.

Set on the gloriously grassed Newlands Village Green right on the doorstep of the SAB breweries in Newlands, Bierfest is more than just a fest of Bavarian food und bier, Bierfest is actually a jam-packed weekend of solid entertainment from start to finish – with bier! 

There is renowned stand up (or fall down, depending on ze time of day) comedian Paul Snodgrass as ze official “Mayor of Munich” leading the festivities. When he’s not on stage or getting people up on stage for fun games and other Bierfest-styled malarkey, South Africa’s favourite party bands Me And Mr. Brown and also Crimson will step up to serenade you with the best party hits, and when they’re taking a bier-break, a ridiculously cheerful oompah band does their oompah best to get you “in ze mood!”  (Do you know the words to ‘Heidi’?)

There are also traditional drinking games like ze mass heben (which is sort of like something you’d be made to do if you were in the army, as a form of punishment), there’s the fearsome “Snuff Kanon” and masses of social media fun besides, you’d be off your eisbein to miss zis party!
