Last night UCT clinched their fifth home semifinal in the Varsity Cup, and first semifinal since 2011 with a brilliant, five-try 25-5 win over Wits in Johannesburg. After Maties made a fantastic come-back against Tuks and winning 41-24, the 2 Cape sides will be doing battle again…this time at UCT.

Last night the Ikey Tigers bagged their first home-game win of the season, beating the Shimlas 25-5 in Round Six of the 2014 Varsity Cup. With the win, the Tigers move into 2nd place on the log, behind NWU-Pukke, moving that much closer to their first appearance in the semi-finals since 2011.

After 4 weeks of Friday TAG rugby, the league is looking super competitive and last Friday, 2 girls teams have rocked up to learn how to play and even ended off by playing a full game against each other.

Monday night, the Ikey Tigers were unable to carry forward the momentum from recent success in the Varsity cup when they lost out 26-16 to defending champions Tuks on a windy Green Mile.

How Awesome – no more having to walk all the way back from Hiddingh – the Jammie Shuttle will be making stops at the MyCiTi Gardens interchange (on Buitenkant) as well as 2 others on the Gardens route, making it easier and more convenient for students to make use of the public transport system.

The Friday Tag League has kicked off on the green mile and this year brings more teams, a girls-only league and a full field for social and beginners to come down and play. So come down and play some TAG, every Friday, 3-5pm until Mid April

Last night, the Ikeys Tigers overcame their biggest challenge of the 2014 Varsity Cup so far, beating the NMMU Madibaz 26-13 in Port Elizabeth. The second consecutive away-game win sees them claim back the Monte Taljaard Trophy from the Madibaz.
