Varsity Football Kicks-off

On 21 July, the opening games of the Varsity Sport football action kicked off and Mondays will never be the same again. Explosive Mondays are back with great music and awesome promotional prizes to be won.

For their opening game, UCT faced the new boys to the competition, the University of Limpopo. Limpopo came very close at getting their first victory in Varsity football as they took the lead early on in the game at the UCT Green Mile.

The game was well contested by both sides throughout and time was running out for UCT. The crowd made their intentions known and got behind their UCT side. Momentum started to swing in favour of UCT and the late pressure was richly rewarded with a fine goal, leaving the final score level at 1-1.

Fellow UCT supporters believe that this year’s UCT side is a strong and capable bunch who are determined to leave their mark in this year’s Varsity Sports football tournament.
