WP win Currie Cup with Ikey Tiger magic

Western Province were crowned the 2012 Currie Cup champions and with a lot of help from current and former Ikey Tigers!!

Western Province started the game with no fewer than 5 Ikey Tigers in their starting line-up. Eben Etzebeth, Don Armand, Nic Groom, Demetri Catrakilis and Damian De Allende all started for province against the Sharks in the Currie Cup final.

In a closely fought game which balanced on a knife-edge, Demetri Catrakilis took the game by the horns in the final 10 minutes and drop-kicked twice to give WP a 7 point lead over the Sharks which became a gap too big to bridge.

A massive amount of pride is felt by all UCT students (past, present and future) for their Ikey Tigers and the massive input they have given WP. Ikey Tiger stars today…Currie Cup champions and Springboks tomorrow!! Aaaaa UUUUUUUCT!!!
