VICTORY!!!…Again!

Ikey Tigers 28-19 Maties

The Intervarsity Cup returns to UCT and will stand alongside the Varsity Cup (won earlier this year) in the UCT trophy cabinet.

The Ikey Tigers struggled to convert their much larger amount of possesion and territory into points in the first half whereas Maties did the complete opposite and managed to score 3 tries.

The result at half time was Ikeys 9 – 19 Maties. But as they did in Pretoria, the Ikey Tigers clawed their way back into the game, giving no space to the Maties and having Demetri Catrakilis converting 7 penalties and one conversion on Therlow Pietersen’s try resulted in the Ikeys walking away victorious!

Ikey Tigers are now sitting 3rd on the log. 2011 seems like the year of the TIGERS!!!
